Overleaf Server Pro 6.2.1 is available

July 6, 2026

We are pleased to announce Overleaf Server Pro 6.2.1! This release includes new features, bug fixes, and updates to the base image and installed packages, as well as internal dependencies. You can read the full release notes here.

Action required: This release introduces a new required environment variable, OVERLEAF_INVITE_TOKEN_SECRET, which adds an extra layer of security for shared tokens. The application will refuse to start if this variable is missing, so please set it before upgrading. You can generate a new secret with, for example, openssl rand -base64 32.

Important note: As previously announced in the 6.1.0 release, this release (6.2.1) completes the transition to the new and improved design of the Overleaf editor. The new editor is now the only available option, and it is no longer possible to revert to the legacy editor. We recommend that users familiarize themselves with the new editor to ensure a smooth transition.

We advise all customers to upgrade to Server Pro 6.2.0 at their earliest convenience.
